The Story Behind Razorblade Fairytales

Razorblade Fairytales was conceived of as a shared interpretation of what fairy tales were, are and will be. Fairytales are both wondrous and dangerous all at once, especially for those who dig for the buried treasures that are haunting forgotten attics and dusty shelves. There in the forgotten recesses of libraries and private collections of books is where Crime and Blight immersed themselves in the worlds and lives of characters long forgotten, but eerily familiar to all.

Drawing inspiration from the way characters react and evolve in situations both fantastic and tragic, and the perfect relationships meant to be yet never realized, Razorblade Fairytales weaves timeless lyrical themes with musical animosity and emotion that makes these songs destined to be “burned helplessly into the mind, radiantly crafted through flowing vocals and intricate lyrics.

The music of Razorblade Fairytales are born of themes discovered in the original Grimm fairytales, folktales from foreign lands, and other tales enchanting enough to remain in our collective consciousness from generation to generation. Combined with the experiences of Blight and Crime in their home, New York City, these songs of beauty and death, love and decay prove that fairytales can happen anywhere, and aren't ghosts of the distant past, but common threads weaving through all our lives.
